27,500 elephants, or 5% of Africa’s total, live in Botswana's farming areas. This is more than Namibia and Zambia’s total population.
In Ngamiland, in the North-West district alone, there are around 160,000 people, an estimated 238,000 cattle, and about 9,000 agricultural fields.
So, how will we make it sustainable for people in these areas to share the landscape with elephants?
